Thank you so much for your speech — it was full of the very important words which I'm always forgetting when I'm exhausted or overwhelmed. The main insight was that the more you react to inappropriate behavior the more they'll do the same, and that we need to focus more on the good things our kids are doing. I'll be more careful with my body language and what I'm saying in front of my kid. I'll definitely be interested to visit more talks in the future.
The workshop was a nice refresher of what I've previously learnt in coaching. It reminded me of the many steps and techniques needed to deal with sibling rivalry. It's easy to forget and fall back to old habits but the workshop helped me remember why I began coaching in the first place. I really enjoyed it. You are a great speaker and coach. I even took notes so I remember it all!
I was at my limit. Every day was a battle and I thought this was just my life now. The workshop broke down exactly why siblings fight, what's really driving it, and what to do in the actual moment it kicks off. I stopped refereeing and started responding. The fighting hasn't disappeared but the atmosphere in our home has completely changed — my husband noticed before I even said anything.
I came in thinking the age gap was the problem. Ela completely reframed that. She covers why sibling conflict happens, what each child is really communicating, and how to respond in the heat of the moment without making it worse. I left with actual tools, not just reassurance. The dynamic between my two shifted in ways I didn't think were possible.
I thought I'd get some general tips. What I got was a completely new understanding of what anxiety actually looks like in children — because it looked nothing like what I expected. Ela walks you through the signs, the triggers, and exactly how to respond in the moment. I stopped pushing my daughter to just get on with it and started asking different questions. Within two weeks she was back in school.
My son is 6 and I kept being told he'd grow out of it. He wasn't. This workshop gave me words for what I was seeing and real tools for what to do when anxiety hits — scripts, strategies, things I could use the same day. I finally stopped accidentally feeding the fear. I've already sent the link to three friends.
